Happy Birthday Sophie

It is really hard to believe that the little one is a year old already. We let her open one of her gifts tonight and she had a great time opening it. She ate her first cup cake (dairy/soy free of course), and she enjoyed that. She read some books that Grammy and Grampy Cliffe sent. All in all a pretty cool day, but the real fun starts on Saturday. She is going to have a blast at her party on Saturday.

Sophie is growing quickly out of the infant/baby stage and into a curious little toddler. She is very good at climbing things just tonight she taught herself to climb onto her wooden rocking horse and she started rocking away(this horse Emily's dad made for her when she was a toddler)! She also says very clearly Mama, Dada, and Dogie. She likes to play chase the dog, and chase Sophie. She loves to walk everywhere now, it is a challenge keeping her in a stroller, shopping cart, or anything that keeps her in one spot. Anyway we love her a lot and are proud of what a good smart little girl she is becoming.

Emily and I think it's pretty funny that Sophie didn't want anything to do with a binky for the first 12 months of her life, and now it's cool. She loves the salad spinner. We're not sure if it's because it's one of the few cabinets without child locks or she's just really into the idea of freshly rinsed produce. She will some times terrorize the toilet paper roll. She peels it apart and shreds it.....I think she gets it from Uncle Bugs. Wait'll she gets her hands on a big book of pictures from say....Russia. Lastly is a picture of the little one and Dad tuckered out after a long day at work and donating blood.

Sophie's First Camping Trip

This weekend we went to Quincy CA to camp and hit up the High Sierra Music Festival. The camping was great, the music was great. We saw the Avett Brothers and they were fantastic. Sophie got to play on the beach visit with Grandma and Grandpa Burf, hang out with her cousins Ruby and Hayden, and just kick it in the great outdoors. She had so much fun all weekend long.
